Fantastic large hand colored photograph of the MIT Rogers Building circa 1877. The building was demolished in 1939. It’s a great historic look at the glorious past of MIT. This piece was done by John B. Dodge. He became well known as one of the best at hand coloring historic black and white photos. This image gives an amazing vivid in color look at something previously only seen in black and white. It is signed by John Dodge lower right. Many institutions and high end hotels around the world display his work. The framing job is top notch, total size is 25.5”x38”. The frame does show some wear. Since it’s solid wood it could easily be stained and look good as new. This is a pickup only piece. Pickup is in the Boston area.

I’d love to see this go to MIT. If any alum wants to purchase it and donate it that would be great. Or feel free to send the link to the right person in acquisitions at the schools library or museums(s). I cannot personally afford to donate it but it would be good to have MIT display this somewhere. Thanks
