Lucy Bethia Walford (1845 - 1915) Scottish Novelist & Artist.
A fine pair of autograph letters, both four pages in length and signed \"L.B. Walford\".
The first is undated (though a note at the end states \"..our eldest son is in Pretoria, but so far, all well..\") so dating it to about 1900-02. Written on 17 Warwick Square, London stationery, it regards a potential meeting with a Mrs Lord, possibly in either London or Cannes. Amusingly it starts \"I am the \"Mrs Walford the authoress\" whom you met at St. Andrews..\".
The second letter is also undated and written from Cranbrooke Hall in Ilford \"May I ask if it is the case that you are thinking of either selling or letting Twyford Abbey?...my husband & I would be greatly obliged by hearing what wd be the rental of Twyford Abbey..in case it should suit you to let it to us?...\"
Both approx. 102x152mm., and in good condition.
