In a complicated prison romance, redhead Terry, who works in the warden's office, falls for Doug, who's working to overturn the manslaughter charge against his girlfriend, prisoner Gail. Joan dates Walter to get Craig's attention, which works, but now Walter is ready to get serious with Joan. Joyce loves Cliff, but refuses to marry him because he doesn't earn enough to satisfy her dreams of luxury.
