Longaberger 1999 Kiddie Purse Basket #10731
The Longaberger Company was founded in 1973 by Dave Longaberger as a family-owned and -operated maker of handcrafted maple wood baskets. At its peak in 2000 the company had $1 billion in sales but a combination of economic recession and changing tastes in home decor led to declining sales, with the company finally filing for bankruptcy in 2018. The brand has since been acquired by another company and re-launched.

Longaberger's iconic headquarters in Ohio, built in the shape of a giant basket, still stands.
The Kiddie Purse basket has a leather-hinged lid with a wooden toggle fastener, swivel carry handle, plastic protector, and ladybug tie-on.
This small basket was acquired during a tour of the Longaberger facility and was signed by Mary, Larry and Carmen, siblings of company founder Dave Longaberger. The numbers next to their names indicate their "place in line," eg. Carmen was the 11th of the 12 Longaberger siblings.
Excellent condition, clean, no damage, kept by an experienced collector in a non-smoking household
