Lovely porcelain china figurine of a Japanese geisha girl dancing with two fans. This piece was handmade in Spain by Lladro and named “Madame Butterfly.” We are told this piece was introduced in 1978 and retired in 1998.
The reference number is 4991. This elegant Oriental woman statue was designed by Salvador Debon. She stands 11.5 inches tall (29.2 cm).
The girl dances on a charcoal gray platform. Her kimono is mauve-pink with a dark gray sash. Pastel butterflies in light gray and tawny yellow are embossed on her gown.
Her dark hair is decorated with pink hand-modeled porcelain flowers.
Her eyes are partially closed as if she is concentrating on her performance. The “ivory” fans have an embossed design as if they had been hand carved.
The figurine stands 11.75 inches tall (30 cm).
Madame Butterfly is in very good condition for her years. No chips or cracks. The porcelain flowers are intact.
