A beautifully detailed vintage limited edition mixed metal media sculpture by Legends & sculptor Christopher Pardell. This sculpture depicts Native American Lakota Indian Crazy Horse with his hair in braids, wearing bone armor on his chest, leather hide pants with fringe with a knife in sheath & moccasins, riding his rearing war horse while holding a rifle in the air with one hand & reins in the other hand with a shield on his arm, mounted on a wood base.*The rifle barrel is broke (the broken piece is included and could be glued or pinned back in place) and the wood base may have a few scratches & scuffs, please see all pics. priced accordingly*The sculpture measures approx. 7 1/2\" tall 7\" wide and 5\" deep and weighs over 3lbs. The sculpture is signed \"C A Pardell\" and stamped \"Dakatos! It\'s A Good Day To Die!\" Crazy Horse 1069/2500 see pics. The bottom has a Legends seal that reads \"Certified Limited Edition Legends USA Mixed Media 1990\" see pics.This is a quality keepsake that will last a lifetime and can be handed down from generation to generation.
About the Artist: Christopher Pardell (20th century) was active/lived in United States.Christopher Pardell is known for Indians and cowboys on horses sculpture. Christopher Pardell began sculpting at the age of four, and by his teenage years, he had come to the realization that sculpting was to become his life\'s work. Influenced by the work of sculptors Russell, Remington and Rodin, Pardell wanted to pursue his passion for realism. His formal education was laid aside in favor of an apprentice moldmaker position with a commercial statuary company, and it was there that he received what he considers to be his \"real education in art.\" As an apprentice to the Italian master artisans who ran the statuary, Christopher rapidly learned the skills that would enable him to become a skilled sculptor. Never sketching his designs on paper, Christopher composes all of his work in three dimensions, in a maquette.

Mixed media is a combination of various fine metals such as lost wax bronze, fine pewter, brass, copper, 24 karat gold vermeil and various hot torched acid patinas such as black nickel, rose copper, and turquoise, to highlight the sculpture. In addition, the sculpture may contain embellishments such as Lucite.
