OFFERED ... a collectible oyster plate from importer LS&S Lazarus Straus & Sons, Limoges, France; red hallmark indicating it was created between 1895 and 1914. Decorated with both transfer design as well as several multi-color (with gold) hand painted floral designs. The plate has five wells, making it perfect for serving oysters or other small delicacies. The red hallmark adds to its authenticity and potential value. This rare piece is a great addition to any collection of collector plates and decorative collectibles. The plate measures 8 3/4\" in diameter. There is a long hairline crack present (see photographs). I made one application of porcelain glue to reverse side, then let water stand for several hours with no leak, just to indicate it is still functional and certainly still a nice piece for display in a collection. Considerable loss of gilt on rim (again, see photographs). Priced accordingly. Sold as-is.
