This specimen is one of the nicest Franklin fluorites that I have seen. A totally different UV response than you would expect. Under shortwave, the yellow specks are the fluorapatite, the willemite fluoresces green and the fluorite has a mild purple response. Under longwave, only the fluorite fluoresces purple. Shortwave photos are 1-8, longwave photos are 9-12. Under a loupe, lots of tiny golden fluorite crystals can be seen.Size: 6\" x 3-1/2\" x 2-3/4\". Weight is 3 lbs. 2 oz. or 1402 grams.
You must have a 254nm shortwave UV lamp or a 365nm longwave UV lamp to properly view the fluorescent response of this specimen.I always combine shipping whenever possible. I ship by 2-day or 3-day USPS Priority Mail. UV photos taken with a 70-watt Engenious Designs Nightstick. A flashlight will not give the same response. I carefully pad and pack each item securely in a cardboard mailing box. I do not supply a gift box or gift wrapping. I include a label and/or any old labels with each mineral specimen.
