This is a fully polished fossil piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a rare, large plant from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs still walked the Earth.This plant would have aided in producing oxygen for dinosaurs to breathe including T-Rex and Triceratops!

The piece itself weighs3.0 grams with approximate dimensions of 2.1 cmlength by1.3 cm width and1.1 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.

Burmite (Burmese) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar(Burma).

InDecember of 2016,a portion of the tail of a small dinosaur wasreported in a piece of burmite amber, and in June of2017, a nearly complete extinct bird was reported in this material!

Please note that the saltwatertest to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater testclaims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.

However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant)composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense thansaltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response should helpdemonstrate this.
