Here offered is a large chunk of the rich copper sulfides that made Butte the \"richest square mile on earth\"! The specimen consists of nearly pure bornite that has some beautiful iridescence especially on the outer portions as well as a little bit of pyrite and chalcopyrite and a tiny little bit of quartz gangue. Specimens like this were collected underground in the mines years ago by miners so this is definitely no modern dump find. This is especially evident by the evidence of zero rust or oxidation!
