Listed for sale is the autograph ofFearchar L. Ferguson [1896 1972] whowas amember of the Lafayette Flying Corps assigned to Spad 96 and was awarded the Croix de Guerre with Palm. The Lafayette Flying Corps is the name given to the American pilots who flew in the French Air Force during World War I and includes the pilots who flew with the Lafayette Escadrille squadron. It is generally believed that approximately 209 pilots successfully completed French flight training and of these 180 served in combat. Many of the above initially served in the Ambulance Corps of the American Field Service before transferring to aviation. The autograph is addressed to a collectoron the verso of a postcard dated July 30, 1961, and is signed \'\'Fearchar L. Ferguson\'\' in blue fountain pen. The postcard is postmarked, affixed with a U.S postage stamp, measures 5.50 x 3.50 inches and is in very good condition. The autograph isauthentic, rare to obtain and will beagreat additionto any military collection. We have listed a nice collection of military, aviation and military autographs.
