Maker and age: On the reverse of this exquisite cake plate by Latrille Frères Old Abbey Limoges are the company\'s green underglaze mark number 1, which dates production of the porcelain to between 1899 and 1913, and mark number 3, which dates its decoration to between 1908 and 1913.
Latrille Frères produced high quality porcelain wares for the brief period between 1899 and 1913 in an old abbey in Limoges, producing goods that were decorated by Latrille as well as sold to other decorators.
Design: In keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company\'s porcelain so famous, and so coveted, the plate is beautifully hand painted with garlands of tiny pink roses and green leaves, highlighted by opulent gold handles and trim.
Size: The plate is 10 3/8 inches wide between the far ends of the handles.
Condition: It\'s in excellent condition with no cracks, stains, repairs, scratches, crazing or utensil marks. There is a tiny nick in the rim - that\'s shown in the photo with the penny.
