For sale is an absolutely stunning Najoen Chilgi lacquer ware 4-pc gift set, each piece with mother-of-pearl inlays - really incredible! Included are a round folded mirror, business card holder, pen and letter opener. Perfect condition all around.
Now the story (to the best of my knowledge)...
This set, as signed on the inside of the business card holder, was most likely a gift from the South Korean Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Kim Yang, when he visited Worcester, Massachusetts in July 2008 to commemorate the central MA soldiers that died during the Korean War, and to meet with some of the surviving veterans at the Korean War memorial in the city. Mr. Yang was partially responsible for obtaining the cooperation of the UN to help South Korea as they fought against North Korean in the early 1950s, and as such, he was awarded the highest honor for it in France - the Legion of Honor.
