KO&G-MIDLAND VALLEY-OCAA-MOPAC KANSAS BRANCH LINES TRAIN ORDERS & MORE (480) CD:
$27.99

In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 480 train order images from the Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf Railway, Midland Valley Railroad, and the Oklahoma City-Ada-Atoka Railroad (OCAA), plus several Missouri Pacific Kansas branch lines. Included are two station lists, showing each location and the number of images included from that location.

Also included is a small timetable compendium of various MP timetables, and also a complete Midland Valley-KO&G-OCAA system timetable. There are 146 total timetable pages, both public and employee, included in this CD. These timetables are:

Midland Valley-KO&G-OCAA system employee timetable No. 19 dated 7-27-1947 16 pages;

MP Southern Kansas & Central Divs. ETT #32 3-11-1951 16 pages;

MP system public timetable dated 4-1-1947 47 pages;

MP system public timetable dated April 1, 1965 8 pages;

MP system public timetable dated December 11, 1960 35 pages; and

MP Western District ETT #1 11-27-1966 24 pages.

These timetable pages cover all of this territory, two and three times over, so you can see where each location was, with respect to the others. This was a very strategic piece of Railroad, and was train-order territory when the Missouri Pacific merged out of existence on January 1, 1986. Dates of the orders range from 1933 to 1985, Mopac\'s last year of operation.

The images from the KO&G, Midland Valley, and OCAA cover the entire systems of these three Railroads. There is also a map of these 3 lines together while they still existed, circa 1947. In addition, the public timetables have excellent maps in them, so to make for more interesting reading, and show where all these frog-ponds are.

The Missouri Pacific branch lines include the Stafford, Wichita, Hutchinson, Hardtner, Pittsburg, Conway Springs, Arkansas City, McPherson, Adamsville, and Midland Valley Subdivisions. (The Midland Valley Subdivision is obviously what was left of the Midland Valley Railroad after the Mopac effected some abandonments in later years).

There are actually 8 different Railroads represented here, with a count from each road as follows: 14 from the Santa Fe, 53 KO&G, 10 MKT, 256 Missouri Pacific, 59 Midland Valley, 17 OCAA, 11 Frisco, and 60 from the Texas & Pacific. These from the T&P are prior to MP taking over in 1976, covering the same KO&G trackage from Muskogee to Denison. Each group of train order images has its own electronic folder for easy reference, as does each timetable.

A few extra notes: The Midland Valley used the Frisco between Fort Smith, Arkansas and Rock Island, Oklahoma. Orders from these locations are shown here from the Frisco, to get from Fort Smith to Rock Island, where the Midland Valley got on their own tracks.

Also, in later years, the KO&G abandoned the line from Durant (KO&G Jct) to Denison, and ran over the Katy to get from Durant to Denison. Therefore, the KATY orders included cover this stretch of track from KO&G Jct (Durant) to the Katy\'s Ray yard in Denison, Texas. As information, south of Denison, the Mopac used their own track south into Texas.

In addition, the Mopac used the Santa Fe between ST Jct (Sterling) Kansas and YA Jct (Yaggy) Kansas. Santa Fe orders were copied at the Missouri Pacific offices in Lyons and Hutchinson to get Mopac trains over the Santa Fe between these 2 points. The 14 Santa Fe orders cover these movements. See timetable page for the Hutchinson Subdivision in the miscellaneous timetable folder.

Finally, Kanopolis, Kansas is actually north of the Mopac main line from Osawatomie to Pueblo, but is included here because the branch line from Geneseo ran up to Kanopolis until it was later abandoned. See notes at bottom of page for the Hutchinson Subdivision. This piece of track (14.3 miles) was called (in 1966) the Kanopolis Industrial Lead. The order from Kanopolis is a very rare item, copied in 1956.

The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, engine numbers, and other operations unique to this long, and very interesting, piece of Railroad.This CD shows many operators\' names, track conditions, operating procedures, and all kinds of running orders, all consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere.

Very nice items that are obsolete and no longer used by any Railroad.
