Pair of Juniata College Wedgwood CommemorativePlates - made in England. These transferware plates measure approximately 10 1/4" inches across, and have an ivory backgroundwith mulberry underglaze images. The plates have a raised scrollwork border, with centralimages featuring the Beeghly Library on the Juniata College campus.The backs of the plates carry the name of the view depicted, along with the manufacturer'smark: "Duke University Plates -- Wedgwood Of Etruria & Barlaston - Made in England -- Engraved by the Wedgwood Studios". These plates were part of a large Wedgwood collection that was carefully stored away for many years, and they are in excellent condition. No crazing chips, cracks, stains, marks or repairs on these plates. Any reflection, distortion or shadow in the photos is the result of camera and lighting issues.
