July 1931 BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVES Magazine 84 heavily illustrated pages

This is an original July 1931 edition of BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVES published quarterly by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia PA. It is Volume 10, Number 1, printed in the USA. For decades Baldwin Locomotive Works was the world\'s largest producer ofsteam locomotives. The company produced more than 70,500 locomotives in 125 years of continuous production before itsuspended operations in 1956.

This heavily illustrated 8-½ x 11-½ inch, 84-page Baldwin Locomotive Works employee magazine starts with and in-depth article about the railways of Norway accompanied by a map and many pictures of railway bridges, tunnels and stations, the Bergen Line, railroad tracks in rugged snowy terrain, Baldwin locomotives used in Norway, etc.

Another in-depth chapter is about the Reading Railway System in Pennsylvania, improvements to their network and facilities. It has many pictures as well as maps.

Other heavily illustrated chapters cover Baldwin locomotives used in Colorado, the development of the electric locomotive, arc-welding battered rail ends (a heavily illustrated article in English and Spanish), new Baldwin locomotive designs for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, and a rare model railroad on display at the International Colonial and Overseas Exhibition in Paris.

Great black & white railroad pictures throughout the magazine as well as wonderful vintage train-related advertisements.
