For your consideration is this hard to find set ofJohn Ruhl Art Nouveau 1920's Metal & Black Marble Reading Man Bookends. These bookends are made of cast medal with a black marble base.
They are quite substantial weighing 3lbs. 4oz. each. The heads do move from side to side and can be lifted off, as do the books and hands, which is how they were originally constructed.
If you are looking for decor that would go well with the Dark Academia interior design style, then this set of bookends will exceed your expectations in quality craftsmanship and design style. John Ruhl was an American sculptor who's work during the 1920's made a significant contribution to the academic world through his wonderful sculptured bookends.

This set of bookends were purchased from an estate sale in Illinois and are antiques. You will find normal wear that is to be expected with the use and age of this pair and we have considered the condition in our pricing.
