Japanese \"Dangomushi\" Pill Bug, ISOPOD Collectible, RARE Set 01 \"Opaque Blue\":
$24.95

We are pleased to be offering these highly sought after collectibles primarily seen in Japan for use in \'Gashapon\' machines. These fun machines are a big part of the Japanese culture both for children who enjoy the surprises found inside, and by adults who pursue the rare example found in multiple sets of a particular character line.

These Isopods or pill bugs are known as \"DangoMushi\" in Japan and were made by Bandai in very limited amounts because they were pre-sold, meaning they didn\'t make any xtras that weren\'t already bought up by dealers before production . Primarily there were 6 sets of these full sized examples manufactured, recently a 7th came out and there has been a couple of oddball sets like metallic versions which are also collectible. We also have \"Key Chain\" examples for sale, which like these are being offered elsewhere.

In each set there was a more sought after example, either because it was obviously different than the others or because demand for that type was high. For example, Set 1 had a blue \"dumpling\" which is tough to find these days, Set 2 had a nice translucent yellow with red eyes, Set 3 the very desirable \"Zebra\" isopod, Set 4 had an orange skirted example and the introduction of a Scarab beetle, Set 5 included another very sought after \"Montenegro\" isopod, Set 6 had a metallic green Scarab beetle and an Ocean Crab, and Set 7 has an Armadillo Lizard along with a sweet looking Magic Potion....

The example being offered here is very hard to find these days. This is the more vibrant opaque blue with blue eyes which is from set 01. A later set has a bit darker blue with black eyes, don\'t get them confused. It is no longer being manufactured however and is one of my favorites. Like its siblings you\'ll find its engineering to be pretty amazing, everything moves including its antennae. Although I don\'t know of a comparable natural Isopod that it resembles, I\'m sure Mother Nature would appreciate it as if she had made it herself! It rolls up in a ball shape, and measures just under 6\" long when unrolled.

These are really neat collectibles fit for any discerning Isopod collector. We are pleased to be only a handful of dealers offering these very hard to find items here in the USA. Again, with the vast majority coming from overseas with some expensive shipping options and loooong delays in arrival, we are pleased to offer them from right here in the USA with FREE shipping!
