An original daguerrotype image, a waistview of a young woman wearing spectacles, a dark shawl over her dress, a gold tinted brooch at her throat. Her right arm rests on a stand next to a floral vase seen in Plumbe Studio New Your City images. The image approx 3.5 x 3\" 6th plate dag, w hexagonal gilt brass mat stamped \"Plumbe\". In it\'s original tape enclosed glass, and case, it has not been unsealed. I believe this image dates to the early 1840s. The brown brown leatherette wood case is lined with w purple silk inside. The image has some small spots and a scratch in the right lower corner, but is Oveall VG. The case is chipped & scrape but complete. I am sorry that my photos do not do this pleasing and sharp John Plumbe, Jr image justice.
