John Philip Sousa signs a signature card for Bank of America.
Document signed twice: \"John Philip Sousa\" as President and as Treasurer of Sousa and His Band. No place, no date. 6x4 bank signature card for the Bank of America. John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) is known chiefly for writing over 100 marches, including such classics as The Stars and Stripes Forever and The Washington Post, earning him the title of \"The March King\". Sousa, who had studied violin and trombone during his childhood, joined the U.S. Marine Band at age 13, playing with the group from 1867-1872. After later playing in popular orchestras, he returned in 1880 as director of the Marine Band, which is called the \"President\'s Own\". In addition to his many musical compositions, Sousa wrote five books, including three novels and an autobiography. Slightly soiled. Slightly worn at corners. File hole at bottom center. Shipping - We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges for multiple orders are combined whenever possible. For high-value items, this policy may also limit our ability to ship to a PO Box. All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx.
