JAMES MATTHEW BARRIE was a Scottish novelist and dramatist, best remembered for creating Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up, whom he based on his friends, the Llewelyn Davies boys. He is also credited with popularizing the name Wendy, which was uncommon in both British and America before he gave it to the heroine of Peter Pan. He was made a baronet in 1913. He was made a member of the Order of Merit in 1922.

Single page, 5 ½ x 7, ALS, 2 Dec, 1923, to Mr. Moody, thanking him for sending an article that he enjoyed reading and delighted to have “Friends across the seal.” Written on Adelphi Terrace House letterhead.
