Perhaps the most iconic of all Peterson shapes, the \"05\" Calabash features a bowl flaring trumpet-like at the rim, a high transition to the shank, and a shank that is wide, muscular, and substantial in hand. Its wide base and smooth curvature, along with its easy-to-grasp, cinched waistline, have been prominent features admired by generations of smokers. Among Peterson\'s oldest and most popular shapes, the \"05\" epitomizes the Peterson design aesthetic. Peterson\'s Emerald series was one of the Irish marque\'s best-selling lines. It presents pipes dressed in the factory\'s recognizable rustication and decorated with the Emerald line\'s characteristic brass rings and namesake acrylic accent. Combining Peterson\'s signature shaping style with a tasteful color palette that evokes Ireland\'s verdant landscape, this Emerald pipe also features a P-Lip stem of vulcanite, further embodying Peterson\'s historic reputation for innovation and pipe-smoking comfort. The Emerald series began in 1987 and the Republic Era ended in 1989, so we can zero in on the date of this beauty between those three years \'87,\'88,\'89. Lightly smoked with only minor rim darkening and some fading of the acrylic ring (as they all do), otherwise fantastic condition for it\'s age . ... in original box too! This 05 Emerald is a great find for the avid Peterson collector!!
