A friendly source has informed me that this mask was made by the Embera tribe located between Panama and Colombia, presumably the Darien Gap region.
This makes sense, as my father was stationed at the jungle school in Panama as an instructor for jungle survival and warfare for troops headed to Vietnam in the late 1960s.
This mask is in great condition, so I\'m not sure if he got it when he was stationed there or not, it looks brand new to my untrained eye.
Roughly 10 inch diameter, and about 7 inches high with the beak.
Google says these masks are all handmade, each original, could take months to make, and were used by shamans during ceremonies.
