These are reproductions from the 1990’s of some original turn of the century advertising art. The posters are all in excellent overall shape, some may have slight imperfections around the edges, but these are extremely presentable and suitable for framing.

The long closed Indianapolis Brewing Company played a large part of the history of the city around the turn of the century, up through the late 1950’s. You can learn more about the history of the brewery here: far as the history of these posters goes, from what I understand, there was a smaller brewery in Indianapolis in the 1990s (not the Indianapolis Brewing Company as they were long closed at that point in time) that commissioned to have some of the original advertising from the brewery re-printed and they were given away as promotional items. These are those reprints from the 90s.

As far as I know, the ones that I own are the only ones left available in this particular style. These are a beautiful piece of breweriana.

Kurt Vonnegut Connection...

Vonneguy’s grandfather was a man named Albert Lieber who was involved in the brewing industry in Indianapolis. His father, (Kurt Vonnegut’s great-grandfather) was Peter Lieber and who founded P. Lieber & Co (called City Brewery) which in 1887 became Indianapolis Brewing Company along with two other Indianapolis breweries. In 1904, Indianapolis Brewing Company won the grand prize at the St. Louis World’s Fair. Seemingly, “Palm Sunday”, one of Vonnegut’s short story collections, recounts this event.

These are really very nice and would look great framed in your home, around the bar or in your game room. The printing is very nicely done, the colors are bright and vibrant, the lines are very crisp.
