Up for sale is aIndianWarEraUS ArmyPattern 1874DyerLeather Cartridge Box or Pouch for .45-70 Cartridges. This cartridge box is designed to hold40 metallic .45-70 cartridges. The Leather is flexible andpliable. Some light surface cracking covering the outer cover flap and crazing on the bottom of the pouch. It has the USin Oval Logo in the front.It is marked: Rock Island Arsenal on the rear. Inspector initials stamped under the cover. The Wool Lining is complete and firmly intact.Thisis a nice original condition item.It will be a welcomed addition to any Indian War Collection.

The Pattern 1874Dyer pouch was designed to hold 40round of .45-70 ammunition. This version was 6 3/4\" long x 5\" high and 1 3/4 wide. It contained gussets sewn into the side to allow the pouch to expand to carry the full complement of ammunition.

These were very popular with the Cavalry Troops, they are quite RARE today and are not seldom encountered for sale. Thisone will not last long, so don\'t hesitate if you want it.
