Up for Consideration is an Incredibly Detailed Possibly One of a Kind, Napoleonic / War of 1812 Era Solid Bronze Military Eagle Flag Pole / Finial Topper!

Offered to you is this Amazing late 18th Century to early 19th Century Solid Bronze Military Eagle Flag Pole Topper. Over the years we have owned many antique Eagle Flag toppers but absolutely nothing compares to this simply striking solid bronze Eagle which has breathtaking details top to bottom. Defiantly an original casting, Possibly American made but most likely French. Note the position of the wings angled back, the head tilt and incredible details in the feather, foot and head.
We have had this piece for more than 25 years on display in a private museum in Worcester, Massachusetts and have shown this bronze eagle to several well known collectors of these types of finials. All agree that this is probably a One of a Kind custom made Military Flag Pole Topper. We apologize for the vagueness of our description but we have had nothing to compare this to so I am going off the cuff...
Here are the Specific Details.
The Bronze Eagle comes in 3 separate pieces. The Solid Bronze Eagle, the Round Orb that fits through the bolt and around the inner cup of the feet and the early but custom made wooden base the Eagle is displayed upon. All pieces came to us together as seen in photos. the eagle alone measures 6.0" with a 4.0" wingspan and 7.75" including the Orb and Bolt. The Antique wood display base measures 4.0" x 4.0" by 3.0" inches making a total of 9.75" from top of head to bottom of base. No Hallmarks that we can see.

As Previously mentioned this Rare Artifact had been on display in a Private Museum in Worcester , Massachusetts for many years and never for sale until now.

Condition is Very Beautiful for it's age, with Amazing untouched dark patina and minimal ware to the metal. Over the years the wood base hole where the metal Rod goes into has gotten wider making the Eagle move in the mount so we have put tape over the threads to keep it sturdy. A Fantastic Presentation Piece for any Military Display or Collection!
