Gorgeous top quality Malachite slab which measures @ 5inches by 3 inches, and has a depth of about 1/2 inch. It weighs 385 grams, and is a very impressive display specimen. It includes an acrylic and metal display stand. The history of malachite goes back to the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, who used malachite to make jewelry and amulets, and ground it into powder to make eyeshadow. Malachite is light to very dark green. Its color comes from copper. It is usually banded, and eye-like rings are the most popular bands, and malachite with these markings is known as "peacock's eye” or “bull’s eye”.
