Hubel & Co Prag Prague Georgian Gentlemen Figural Porcelain Pen Holder Circa 1800-1835
Very rare antique porcelain pen holder in the shape of Georgian / Colonial era gentlemen. With 9 openings in the top. The figures are hand painted with black, brown, and white hair and with pink, brown, black and turquoise jackets. Gold gilding around the base. Has an impressed Prag mark on the base. This mark was used by Hubel & Co in Prague between 1800 and 1835. Possibly meant for a partner\'s desk. Has some wear to the gilding, and four of the gentleman originally had pipes or cigars sticking out of their mouths, but the tips have all been broken off. Also has one chip to the base edge. Measures approximately 3 3/8 inches wide x 2 5/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.FT
