This is a Racing Kachina, who overtakes slower runners in the Hopi ceremonial foot races, and cuts off piece of their hair. Standing 8 inches tall (not counting his beautiful feathers), he is carved by the young and verytalented Theron Talashoma. Theron is fascinated with the Old Style figures, andhe brings an incredible “wildness” to his Kachina dolls, as if this were afigure which reposed in a sacred cave for centuries.
