The artisan created a steel mold with hammer and chisel for each intricate design, and then hand-pressed molten glass into the engraved mold using an antique press. This hand process created a series of cup plates that are similar, but not identical. The irregularities highlight the handmade nature of each piece. Each cup plate has the artisan\'s initials and the Pairpoint trademark embedded within the design.
