Recently acquired from a local NJ estate is this genuine cowhide bound handwritten diary with gilt fore-edges describing daily activities. Each page allows entries for one day, but there are lines for different years so the entries on a single page refer to different years. There are entries for years 1960 - 1964, so I think the entries for a particular day correspond to those years based on the position on the page. The majority of the entries are from the early years in the time period 1960 to 1964. The entries are generally fairly brief and there are not entries for every page and every year, and very few December entries. There are many town references and with some detective work, the location may be narrowed although it may have changed over the course of years this diary covers. Repeated entries about lunch at New Paris (town or restaurant?), references to New Haven, etc. Looks like the Northeast is a good possibility. There are many references that may indicate the author was involved with antiques, sales, museums, libraries, etc. So I have taken many photos to show typical pages.

Jan 7 (1961)-Worked finishing inventory figures and putting complete set Antiques in library. Lunch with Hanna at New Paris.

Jan 7 (1962)-Gun collectors from N.J. here to see Colts, worked all afternoon. Record crowd.

Jan 20 (1960)-lunch at New Paris…Went to preview of Goodwin sale, crowded

Feb 20 (1960)-Cataloged all day.

May 6 (1960) Meeting at Philadelphia Museum..Bus to Winterthur, Home by 6

May 24 (1961) museum closed at 2 for funeral

June 9 (61) to poughkeepsie with …saw exhibition. Lunch at America
