For yourconsideration is a vintage beaded Indonesian basket, referred to as a “beadedtreasure box.” This Balinese basket with lid is in excellent condition, andmeasures about 6 ½ inches in diameter (at its widest point). Measures about 5 ¾inches high (at highest point). Cleaninterior. From a non-smoking home. Because of its design, this beaded basket doestilt slightly when set down. Thesebeautiful “beaded treasure boxes” were crafted by the Sasak people in Lombok,the first island east of Bali, in Indonesia. These “boxes” (baskets) were originallymade with just rattan core and peel, and were used to store betel vines. Today,the exterior is enhanced with lovely colored beads. They are perfect forstoring jewelry or anything of value. Check out the pictures -- you will notice that the colors of the basket are NOT bright and vivid, but rather more muted colors.
