Recurve style knapped obsidian blade. Blade material is rainbow obsidian, hand-knapped from an obsidian slab and hafted into a white tail deer antler tine.
The obsidian blade measures 5 1/2\" to the base of the antler for a total length of 11 1/4\". Secured with adhesive and wrapped with dacron to ensure solid connection. Handle section cut to appropriate length for functionality and the blade hafted in to provide comfortable and ergonomic hand grip and placement.
Blade made from vibrant rainbow obsidian showcasing shades of green, gray, blue, and purple depending on light and angle. This blade showcases all of them in stunning detail. Material is iridescent and translucent when held up to the light and rotated.Pictures and video do not do the blades beautiful colors justice. Blade has been microflaked to produce a very sharp cutting edge. This knife would make an excellent display piece but is functional and usable if desired. Blade is easily re-sharpened once dulled by pressure-flaking the cutting edge of the piece. *Picture showing measurement shows a WIP flaked slab that is thicker and better showcases the coloration and vibrancy that can be expected from the pieces when in the light that I wasn\'t able to capture in my photographs. This WIP slab is not included but will be for sale when completed and was included in the pictures for reference due to my phone being unable to capture the colors of the rainbow obsidian. *****Please note this is volcanic glass and should be utilized for cutting purposes only; any twisting, prying, or chopping can lead to the blade breaking and possible injury.
