This item is aHaddon \"Sun Gold\'n Hour\" (Golden Visionette Model 80-S variant) Mystery Clock. This clock Runs & Keeps Time; its date of manufacture was December 3,1965 (see photo from inside the clock case). These clocks came from the factory with original 24K Gold plating. This clock is a beautiful example of the Haddons; the dial face with just lines for the hour markers is really the cleanest, most elegant and the most similar to the Jefferson Electric Golden Hours. These clocks came with faces that were either vertical (straight up and down) or faces that were raked backwards at about 23 degrees; as the included 13 high-resolution photos show, this one is the latter. If you look carefully at the first (main) photo in this listing, you will see that the shine of the 24K gold finish actually is mirroring the gold cone nut at the front center of the dial glass (the reflection looks like an arrowhead); no doubt that this finish is actually gold! In any event, the series of Haddon \"Golden Visionette\" clocks were really a knock-off of the Jefferson Electric \"Golden Hour\" clocks which preceded the Haddon models, as the Jeffersons were first manufactured in December of 1949 already -- and had protective patents for their mechanism and design -- so the Haddons have very different means of operation (i.e., the glass doesn\'t spin as in the Golden Hours and their kin). If you are Jefferson Mystery Clock owner/fan, you surely need one of these Haddon clocks as well, as they show why the Jeffersons were so ingenious and special; for example, the Jefferson clocks are \"cleaner\"and more elegant, in that the hands and glass are no visually interrupted/crossed by the tip of the minute hand extending into the rim of the face, which is where the hand mechanism is driven from on the Haddons.
