Here is probably the largest collection of Mount St. Helens related newspaper clippings, books, slides, and related media that you will EVER see. In fact, it weighs almost 15 pounds in total! This was my personal collection that I started when I was 12 years old, living on the east side of Portland during the big eruption on May 18th, 1980. Most of it dates back to 1980 and 1981, but there is a smattering of newer articles and books as well. Many of the newspapers are no longer even published today. Includes reporting from the Oregonian, the Oregon Journal, The Columbian, the Skamania County Pioneer, and MANY, MANY other newspapers. The pictures show only a SMALL fraction of the total, but hopefully you get the idea! There are literally thousands of newspaper articles in this collection.
I\'m getting close to retirement and my wife is tired of storing this collection. Over the years, they\'ve contributed to a number of school projects (both for me and my children), but it\'s time to let go.
