Wilber Hardee opened his first restaurant in September of 1960 in Greenville, North Carolina. Before this, Hardee was operating other hamburger joints in the Greenville area, Silo, and Burger Castle. McDonald's opened their 1st restaurant in Greenville a year ago. He visited it, and was impressed that they sold $168. in sales in one day. That's a lot of hamburger customers at 15¢ for a burger.
So, he decided to open a restaurant with the same concept, before the California based McDonald's could get a foothold in the Greenville area.
Years later, the chain was sold to CKE, also owner's of Carl's Jr. Today, Hardee's has grown to over 1900 restaurants. Credit to Jerry Bledsoe, thank you.
This bottle is extremely rare. They were only given to franchisees. It applauded the 35th Anniversary Celebration, held in Orlando, Florida in 1996. It is in brilliant condition for being 27 years old. This bottle is full, and has a crown top. The bottle has perfect painted labels, and no chips.
