HANKOOK of S Korea Raised Floral White Ceramic Trinket Box with Cobalt Blue Trim:
$14.00

This is a really lovely round ceramic trinket box or dish, with an amazing raised floral design imprinted into the ceramic of the lid and on the sides. The dark navy blue band with bright blue and red flowers which circles the lid, top of the dish and in the center of the lid really pops against the bright white.

The backstamp shows it is made by Hankook in South Korea, and using google translate it says, “Korean Pottery” and “Maseru Makiyama”. Hankook Chinaware imports their products around the work, including to the US.

Looking up information on Hankook Chinaware, they are leading Korean maker of china in their country. They started business in 1943, selling only within their country in the beginning. In 1973, First Lady Yuk Young-soo asked the company to produce high quality chinaware so that she could serve high-profile officials and leaders from foreign countries with pride. Since then, the company has been supplying its chinaware to their presidential mansion. They also make a special line of chinaware for the Vatican and also have a premium brand, Prouna. The Prouna dishes are decorated with crystals and involve handmade techniques. They were selected by the British royal family to produce the celebratory chinaware for the 60th Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

This trinket dish appears to be ceramic, rather than bone china or porcelain and is glazed inside and outside except for the bottom edge of the lid, and bottom edge of the dish where it rests.

It is 4 & 1/2 inches in diameter, is about 2 & 1/2 inches tall with the lid on, 2 & 1/4 inches with the lid off and weighs 13 ounces. It is in excellent shape, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It would be a really pretty place to store small pieces of jewelry on a dresser and keep them from getting dusty!

Please zoom in on pictures for a loser look and see the 360 degree video.

I pack with lots of bubble wrap for safe shipping and ship out quickly, within one business day, sometimes same day, and sometimes on Saturday if I can get to the post office before it closes at noon.

Any questions, pleases ask and thanks for looking!
