This is one of the finest Lost Lakes I have ever owned, nearly flawless in every regard. It is 1 11/16\" by 4 11/16,\" so it has great size, and it has those downward flaring barbs that collectors so desire. And the basal edges are ground, as they should be, and this has wonderful serrations to boot. If I were to find fault with this point, it would be to note that it is made of patinated Dover chert, not the best of materials but certainly appropriate to the Tennessee where I understand it was found. This point is nearly perfect, I say nearly because when held to a pale light, one can see it has a few light nicks on the rails that only blend in with the serrations. This is a masterpiece, but since it is soooooo wonderful, I would be sure to send it to the authenticator to make sure it is not too good to be true.
