Gorgeous Handmade Crocheted Coverlet/Counterpane 1936.
Hand crocheted vintage coverlet/counterpane, diamond star pattern with small bobbles. White cotton, very heavy, no defects that I can find. Freshly laundered, no stains. Hand embroidered label in one corner on underside, “SHM 1936.” Dimensions 98”x 68”. This was given by the maker to my friend’s mother (she had it for well over 50 years in a closet) and then to me, I’ve had it tucked away for over 28 years and have never had the right place to display it. I’m not sure it has ever been used. Excellent condition. I couldn’t get a good photo of the entire coverlet so I have taken photos of each side when folded in quarters.
