\"Goin\' Railroding\" is subtitled \"A Century on the Colorado High Iron\", is a \"First Editon\" and described on the flyleaf as, \"the result of three years collaboration between Sam Speas, a 46 year veteran fireman-engineeron the Colorado and Southern and his daughter Margaret Coel... presented in a beautifully written narrative supported by over 300 photographs, making it a book of special appeal to rail fans everywhere.\" He died in 1981, the year before the C&S was absorbed into the Burlington Northern in January, 1982.. The pictures show the front and back covers, the two Contents pages, a map and ten other pages roughly 30 pages apart.

We are honored to be the appointed caretakers of 3 steam locomotives owned by the city of Portland, Oregon. The collection includes the world famous SP 4449 Daylight locomotive, originally restored to pull the American Freedom Train in 1975-76. The magnificent SP&S 700 is also an operational 4-8-4 which came back to life in 1990. They are joined by their little sister, the OR&N197, a Pacific 4-6-2 which will steam up again in about 2 years. All three are located at the new Oregon Rail Heritage Center, a working engine house in Portland, Oregon, allowing public access to the locomotives. We receive no support from the city, but rely solely upon volunteers and donations. Your support is deeply appreciated.
