This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called \"Glidden\'s Two Point Sliding Barb Around Two Twisted Lines\" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 323-B). (Hagemeier shows this only as a fixed barb and not as a sliding barb). This wire features two twisted together line wires. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire around both line wires. Barbs are wrapped just loose enough that they can be slid down the lines. Sample shows light to moderate oxidation. Sample is 18\" in length and has two barbs. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. Barbing points show light bending. There are no broken or missing barbing points.
