Elegant German coffee service \"egoist\" (for 1 person) made of white porcelain, gilded with wax, etching technique with refined floral patterns. Includes tray, coffee pot, coffee duo, creamer and sugar bowl.
The mark belongs to the Thuringian manufactory Gebrüder Schönau, and was placed between 1933 and 1953. In 1817, in Hüttensteinach, Johann Friedrich Greiner, financial adviser, co-founder and co-owner of the Porzellanmanufaktur Rauenstein, together with Künzel, councilor of the Court of Justice, purchased an old ironworks and opened a porcelain factory where they made crockery. In 1859 the company was put up for sale. It was bought by the Schönau brothers. At first, they ran the company on their own, then their relative became the sole owner. At the beginning of the 20th century, the company produced a variety of cups, sets, vases, beer mugs with and without printed photographs, lithophanes, decorative plates, etc. Many of the company\'s products, especially for export, were made in the style of the Dutch Delft. The company was closed in 1964.
Small traces of usage, small age stains on gilding, small spots on the back of the tray, micro chips on the inner edges of the lids of the sugar bowl and coffee pot. On the cup there is a small, barely noticeable crack in the gilding and a slight wear of the gilding along the edge.
