Hand painted so may have minor imperfections. Cast resin. The Guinness Toucan. Part of the Gilroy Zoo Keepers collection. Sitting on a tile floor that looks like a tortoise back with a freshly poured pint of Guinness. Brilliant marketing design. Very collectible. Makes a great gift. Measures approximately 3-1/2 x 3-1/2. *History facts about The Gilroy Zookeepers Collection. John Gilroy was an English artist hired in the early 1930's to create a marketing campaign featuring a family drinking Guinness. He instead was inspired by a sea lion he saw at the circus balancing a ball on his nose and thought it would to draw it with a beer instead. First came the sea lion with much success. Then came other animals (a bear, a lion, a Kinkajou, crocodile, ostrich, pelican, kangaroo, a tortoise and the award winning colorful Toucan which first appeared in 1935.
