INCREDIBLE AND RARE GREEN MAFIC PEGMATITE. A GLACIAL ERRATIC FROM A COLDER TIME.

This beautiful ancient rock specimen found in the finger lakes region was gifted to me. What the rock was composed of had remained a mystery until I reached out to Cornell University:

“Your rock is quartz, feldspar, and a mafic mineral (green) that looks from the picture as an amphibole. Given the local geology it is likely a glacier

All rocks are special, but this one is likely a world traveler, from far away lands of a colder world. “

I wasn’t going to sell it because it’s so beautiful and it’s one of a kind, but I’ve enjoyed it for long enough and it’s time to make room for a new one.
