GIANT Fulgoroid Insect with Piercing Beak in Burmite Amber Fossil Dinosaur Age:
$45.00

This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a very rare, giant fulgoroid insect from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs still walked the Earth including T-Rex and Triceratops. This insect has large eyes and a piercing, beak-like proboscis. It looks quite formidable!

It could be fashioned into a fascinating piece of jewelry like a ring or pendant.

The piece itself weighs1.0 grams with approximate dimensions of1.5 cmlength by1.3 cm width and0.6 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.

Please see my response. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on anddo not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sourcesnot glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.

Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar(Burma).

InDecember of 2016,a portion of the tail of a small dinosaur wasreported in a piece of burmite amber, and inJune of2017, a nearly complete extinct bird was reported in this material!

Pleasesee my other resin fossils including Dominican amber with inclusions, largeColombian copal with inclusions, and very rare Indonesian ambers (some oflovely blue and green color).

I do combine items for up to 7 days to save on shipping costs. Please contact me if you purchase more than one item so I can send you a combined invoice so you do not overpay on shipping.

International Buyers: Please note that I ship using First Class Mail International.

A SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please understand that import duties, taxes and charges are NOT included in the selling price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer\'s responsibility.

Please check your country\'s customs office to determine what these additional charges may be prior to offerding/buying.

I cannot guarantee delivery of your item in a set amount of time. Different country\'s customs offices take longer to process items than others do.

Lastly, I do not mark merchandise values below their true value or mark items as \"gifts.\" U.S. and International government regulations prohibit such behavior. Honesty is the best option.

I only sell genuine, all-natural, non-heat treated, reconstituted, or color enhanced amber. This piece could be used as a specimen or in a piece of jewelry. Thank you for your consideration. This amber will ship worldwide. I will combine items to save on shipping for up to a 7 day period and usually ship within a 24 hour period.

Please note that the saltwatertest to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater testclaims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.

However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant)composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense thansaltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response should helpdemonstrate this.
