This trick is very similar to the famous \"Insurance Policy\" effect except there are lots of funny gags before the revelation of the correct selection. I use this myself and really enjoy the interaction and humor built into the routine. Very easy to perform!
Basic Effect; \"The magician ask a spectator in the audience to select a card, saying that healreadyhas a prediction in his pocket. After the card is chosen the magician displays his prediction but it is the wrong card. Embarrassed the magician unfolds thepredictionto reveal the back of a card. Magiciansmiles and says he wasn\'t completely wrong because the back of the card matches. The audience starts laughing understanding that the magician is playing with them. Next he unfolds thepredictionagain showing a large \"Joker\" and says, \"don\'t worry I\'m a professional magician, and I\'m only Joking!\" while smiling and looking at the Joker. The audience keeps laughing along with the magician. But them all of a sudden the magician becomes serious and explains that he was not lying when he said that on his prediction there would be the image of the spectators selected card...he then unfolds the prediction once more and shows ...the image of ALL 52 playing cards and then points to the spectators selected card. Again the audience laughs for the gag. But just when everybody starts thinking that it is all a joke, the magician unfolds the prediction one final time showing a giant image of the exact card that was selected!!\"
I use this trick myself, but I play it just like an \"Insurance Policy Effect\" notlikethe abovedescribedwith the instructions included. I love the \"Insurance Policy\" and have performed it for nearly forty years, but I also love the extra gags that you can use with this effect before therevelation of the selected card.
