The classification of NWA 15359 was done byA. Irving, UWS, and J. Boesenberg, BrownU in 2022.Northwest Africa 15359(NWA 15359) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 Classification: Enstatite chondrite (EL3) History: Purchased by John Divelbiss in 2022 from a dealer in Riverside, California, who had obtained the material from a Moroccan source. Petrography: (A. Irving,UWSand J. Boesenberg,BrownU) Well-formed, highly magnesian glass-bearing chondrules (apparent diameter 740±450 µm, N = 24) are set in a fresh fine-grained matrix (~15 vol.%, opaque in thin section) containing Si-bearing kamacite, daubreelite, alabandite, Ti-Cr bearing troilite, oldhamite, silica polymorph and intermediate plagioclase. Geochemistry: Forsterite (Fa0.2±0.3, range Fa0.1-0.8, N = 6), enstatite (Fs0.4±0.2Wo1.0±0.1, range Fs0.2-0.8Wo0.8-1.3, N = 12), diopside (Fs0.9±0.3Wo46.5±0.5, range Fs0.5-1.2Wo47.1-46.1, N = 4), kamacite (Ni 6.7-8.1 wt.%, Si 0.7 wt.%, N = 6). Classification: Enstatite chondrite (EL3). Specimens: 24.6 g including one polished thin section atUWB; remainder with Mr. J. Divelbiss.
