Vintage Franciscan Apple 12.5\" Chop Plate or Serving Platter. Very early trademark Back Stamp putting this item as made from 1940 to 1947. Likely before 1944 or 1945.There are 2 scratches that are each a few inches long. They are deep enough to be felt by scraping you fingernail across them but not real obvious unless tilted against the light. I tried to photograph but difficult to capture.Nice gloss on the finish. On early pieces the leaves are actually raised slightly above the surface of the plate.
Serving platters made this early are getting harder to find.
