This listing is for a Beautiful and Vibrant Panamanian Mola from the early 1970s. The mola is a bit larger than the average ones sold in Panama today. It is very colorful and very ornate with much hand work. Design features what I believe to be a dragon and a lobster?

Framed in a faux bamboo design wood frame with a burlap mat.

A very special and rare work of art from the indigenous people of Panama!

A mola, which translates to “shirt” in the Guna language, is a piece of traditional dress typically worn by women and known for its bright colors and intricate designs depicting flowers, birds, reptiles, animals, and other emblems indicative of Mother Nature.

Excellent previously owned condition. Framed textile shows no wear or fading. Faux bamboo design wood frame shows light age wear.
