Five 1930s Linen Finish Postcards of Hotels - New York, Dallas, New Orleans +:
$5.00

This listing is for a mixed lot of five (5) vintage 1930s “linen finish” postcards of hotels in several major cities. These cards from multiple estates. As follows:

TITLES / SUBJECTS: Titled (1) “Baker Hotel Dallas, Texas”, (2) “Jung Hotel - on Famed Canal St., New Orleans, LA.”, (3) Hotel Charleston, Lake Charles, La.”, and two views of “Hotel New Yorker, New York City - Manhattan’s Largest Hotel”. These postcards are typical souvenir items, circa 1930s. It is interesting that the views of the “New Yorker” reflect two different time periods, one during the late 1930s “Convenient to the Site of the 1939 New York’s World Fair” and later in the early 1950s. Subtle design differences can be seen between the two cards.

SOLID/DIVIDED BACK: All Divided backs.

UNUSED/POSTMARK: Four unused, one mailed with stamp attached Sept. 26, 1953.

PUBLISHER: Two cards by “C.T. Art-Colortone” Postcard by Curt Teich, Chicago.”; two cards by “E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wis.” and one by “Color-Litho ‘Bursheen’ Finished, Made Only by MWM - Aurora, Mo.”.

CONDITION: Mixed used & unused condition. The posted card came from a California estate, while the other cards were found pasted into a scrapbook from a Texas man who was a Coca-Cola rep., and have discolored on the backs quite a bit. The older “New Yorker” card has tape remnants on the face with bits of surface loss from the scrapbook. Still interesting vintage cards. Edge & corner wear varies. Any and all wear typical of age. Please look carefully at all the photos, as they are considered part of the description. All items “as found”.
